As a colorist, I strive to strike a balance between color and form through the medium of oil paint. I draw inspiration from my daily life experiences and interactions with others.
I’m driven to express a sense of hope or survival that endures, even in the face of the most adverse, at times dire, circumstances or conditions.
Some of my visual influences are from works by Da Vinci, Raphael, Cezanne, Van Gogh, the Fauves, Bellows, Mondrian, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Thiebaud, Fish, and Lucian Freud, among others.
One of my early inspirations to paint was around age 12 from Bob Ross, whose TV episodes I painted along with using my watercolors and paper.
Music has also influenced me greatly in my life and in my art.
