Born in Joliet, Illinois, in 1969, Ronna Richmond graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in elementary education at Illinois State University. After moving to San Antonio, Texas, in 1992, where she worked as a teacher, she started painting in oils, and began teaching art, while majoring in Fine Art at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Ronna taught art while painting as much as she could on her own time. Ronna exhibited her artwork at several art shows, including a 3-person show at the Galeria Ortiz in San Antonio, where she also gained representation.
In 2004, she relocated to Sunrise Beach, Missouri, during which time she owned and operated an art gallery and open studio situated just minutes from the shores of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, tucked in the lovely Ozark mountains, where she currently resides, working in her home studio.
Painting primarily in oils, she also experiments in various other media, thus allowing her to continue to evolve artistically. Her complete portfolio spans 50+ years, beginning with crayon drawings at age 4 and watercolor paintings by age 5.
A woman of many interests, Ronna is also an accomplished clarinetist. An athlete, she competed in bodybuilding and physique competitions from 1998 through 2021, in Texas, Missouri, and most recently in Montana in 2021.
Ronna Richmond's paintings are found in private collections throughout the United States and England.
